Relief of the sternum in the horse
A horse’s sternum is a very sensitive area that often still receives too little attention. In particular, putting on and tightening girths puts pressure on the sternum and muscles of horses, which can cause tension and blockages in the horse’s sternum.
The release of these tensions by equine physiotherapists often lasts only a short time, so that the tensions and blockages of the horse’s sternum reappear as soon as the girth is tightened again.

To permanently relieve the horse’s tension and prevent blockages of the sternum in the long term, we have developed a product that can be integrated into any conventional saddle girth. It is irrelevant whether the belt is short or long.
Our equigetic pad ensures that the horse’s sternum is protected by a channel and the adjacent muscles are softly padded. Thus, the horse’s pain-sensitive sternum is relieved during girthing and the pressure is distributed to the adjacent, padded muscles.
What is the equigetic pad made of?
The outer material of the equigetic pad is made of high quality English leather and includes a Velcro fastener for attachment to the girth. This is flexible and therefore adaptable for all common saddle girths. Two additional elastic straps provide the necessary security and stability.
The inner material is made of the very soft and comfortable memory foam. Memory foam is a viscoelastic material originally developed by NASA for space travel. The astronauts should be protected from the high pressure during the launch of the space shuttles.
The equigetic pad - Tested and found to be good
Before the equigetic was launched, we tested it on a wide variety of horses over a full year. The results were consistently gratifying. Already at the first application the horses’ pain has decreased and their behavior has changed. The harness constraint disappears and the horses relax much faster.
